One-of-a-Kind Bio Skills Lab Impresses Professional with Stonhard Floors

Fusion Solutions, a bio skills learning center located in Hicksville New York, prides itself on offering the most advanced technologies in spine surgery training. This facility, the only one of its kind in the New York City and Long Island area, is approved for training with cadavers. The state-of-the-art facility with computerized warehousing and GPS-tracking vehicles delivers “Gold Standard” surgical products on-demand directly to hospitals and surgeons through the most experienced sales force in the industry.

When Fusion Solutions purchased its facility, they knew that their space had to be revitalized entirely. “The floor is the first thing they see, and it sets the tone for the quality of our work and our professionals,” explained Vincent Guarino, president.

The structure they purchased, an old HVAC fabricator, had a concrete floor with cracks and divots that rendered it unsuitable for an FDA-approved spinal surgery product distributions and Bio Skills lab. Vincent added, “Our lab is one of a kind, and we needed a floor covering that was both seamless and attractive.”

Additionally, because of Fusion Solutions’ unique distribution model, their bio skills lab and warehouse are also used for VIP tours for various hospital employees and healthcare professionals. Factored into the criteria for renovation was the need to maintain a clean environment that would be both durable and appealing for touring visitors and students.

Fusion Solutions’ search for a flooring company led them to Stonhard. Because of Stonhard’s unprecedented reputation in the healthcare industry, Stonhard products were solely specified by the construction management team for the project.

Stonhard’s Stontec TRF was installed in the bio skills laboratory due to its exceptional wear and stain resistant properties. For the warehouse, autoclave, and preparation areas, Stonclad GS and Stonkote HT4 were installed to keep these high-impact and high-traffic environments running smoothly and efficiently.

With the help of Stonhard seamless flooring, Fusion Solutions was able to turn its dilapidated building into a hygienic and inviting world-class facility. “Our goal was to have a durable and attractive floor that our customers [healthcare professionals] would say, ‘this is better than my operating room’…and they always do!” says Guarino.
